We are delighted to announce that this year’s NHS Brand Ambassador for the University of Kent will be our very own Alumna, Jasmine Chairil Nazri, from the Class of 2017. Jasmine is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management at the University of Kent.
Jasmine, how did you come to be the NHS Brand Ambassador?
Growing up, I have always been surrounded by doctors who devote their life to save others – which is why I am so passionate about supporting and promoting the NHS now. I was never the highest achiever in school, nor did I have much work experience in the field, but my strong passion for the industry gave me an advantage over the other applicants. By making strong connections and networks at my time in GIS and at university, I strove to create awareness about the crucial role the NHS plays in building a healthy nation, and worked hard to encourage students to engage in work involving the NHS. This genuine passion and dedication allowed me to shine in the application process and eventually helped me to get the job as the NHS Brand Ambassador for my university!
Jasmine, how do you think GIS helped shape you into who you are today?
Throughout my time at GIS, I made so many lifelong friends who continue to motivate and support me at university. In addition, having the opportunity to be taught by teachers who were highly successful in their chosen fields, and passionate about their subject areas, inspired me to find my own passion and excel. Through the wide range of extra-curricular activities that GIS offered, I had the opportunity to develop so many important skills, including communication, collaboration and leadership.
What is your favourite memory of GIS?
My fondest memory of being at GIS was completing the Gold International Award alongside some of my closest friends. This experience was an eye opener for me, as it taught me to step outside of my comfort zone and do things that I never thought I would do in a million years!
