“The Climate Change Crisis” By Alumnus Dr Donald Lee

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming GIS Alumnus from Class of 1953, Dr Donald Lee, a senior economist with the United Nations in New York. Dr Lee has worked with the UN for 20 years and is a passionate advocate for climate action, human rights and social change.

Dr Lee spoke to GIS students and staff about a number of issues including the critical importance of global temperature rise, ecological, social and human issues surrounding rising sea levels and the impact of changes in the hydrological cycle.

Fascinating and frightening at the same time, we were pleased to see our students show a serious sense for concern and enthusiasm for change.
