F1 in Schools is part of the D&T curriculum for Year 9 and is designed to help students develop skills and knowledge in a range of areas through an enquiry-based process. Students have used Computer Aided Design, Manufacture and Analysis to produce a CO2-powered racing car that they raced on the day. Developing their engineering skills as well as communication skills is vital to the work we do in D&T and pride ourselves on real-life learning experiences. Nicholas Koh, Class of 2009 will also be mentoring last year’s GIS winning team of the F1 in Schools South East Asian International School Finals. He wil be working closely with team Diverse to complement Head of DT, MR. Ryan Ball’s effort in leading the team to win the F1 in Schools World Final Competition in September 2017. Nick will act as a mentor to guide the team’s engineers with research and have a deeper understanding of a range of engineering and aerodynamics knowledge with his expertise.
