1 week after the Class of 2015’s graduation, the Year 11s follow suit and received their certificates on stage. The evening was graced by Dato’ Loy, who is the CEO of the Taylor’s Education Group. He attended the ceremony with 2 objectives – as a parent to his son who has completed Year 11 in GIS, as well as the guest speaker for the night. He shared 4 simple life lessons, which he had learned: life is not fair, focus on your strength, have many failures, and try to do many things in life. Although some of the points may contradict with what have been taught in GIS, but his aim was to inspire the graduants to stay true to themselves by saying “it’s never too late or too early to be who you want to be. Just make the best of it.” He ended his speech with hearty congratulations to the students. GIS also took the opportunity to thank and honour 4 staffs, namely Mrs. Yeoh, Mrs. Kunahlan, Ms, Nair and Ms. Monica Chong, who will be retiring by the end of the academic year on stage.
