We were delighted to welcome Aneeta Williams from Class of 1986 back to the school to present a talk to students and parents. Aneeta is a lawyer by profession but is now involved with humanitarian work, improving the lives of children affected by armed conflict across the globe. In the last decade she has been travelling the length and breadth of the globe advising, supporting, training and managing staff and communities to prevent, and respond to, child protection concerns arising from conflicts around the world. She is currently Head of Programme Quality at War Child UK, a charity based in London working in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Iraq, Jordan and Yemen. (see www.warchild.org.uk). She delivered an enlightening and thought-provoking talk about her work to some of our students and parents. It opened up their minds and inspired them to look beyond the surface of real life issues, no action is too small to make a difference.
