The Garden International School Street Store- Saturday 21st March

Dear Alumni,

Following on from the clothing drive we had in the build up to Mufti, we are pleased to announce the date of our GIS Street Store will be Saturday 21st of March.

This event will support our Street Friends who we currently provide meals to every Friday evening (approx. 160-200 people).  The event will feature a catered meal, some music (parents, alumni and students – please let us know if you would like to sing or play), and the opportunity for our street friends to access the ability to choose clothes from our street store (for many this will be the first time they have had a choice of clothes for many years).   More information about the street store can be found at: http://thestreetstore.org/

This event will provide an opportunity for our primary and secondary students to be involved in arranging and setting up the clothes for the event and all of the community (students, parents, staff and alumni) are welcome to join the event on the day to help us with the meal and with the street store.  Primary students can attend the Street Store, if they are accompanied by their parents.

The approximate timings for the day would be meeting at GIS at 14.00 to load the clothes onto the transport, make our way to the Street Store Location, carry out the Street Store and return to GIS by approximately 20.00.

This event is free, all we require from you is your time and care.

Clothing donations can be brought to Primary Hall 1 after 09.45 on Thursday 19th March, or before, during and after school on Friday 20th March.

We are really in need of men’s clothes and shoes that are in good condition, as most of our street friends are male.
Many thanks,
